Fairfield County resident Richard Commaille, 70, of Redding, surrendered to Connecticut State Police on Tuesday, June 9, and was charged with murder.
A physician assistant in the Redding area for 40 years, Commaille was arrested following an investigation into the alleged suicide of his wife Nanci Commaille, who was reportedly found shot in their home on Monday, April 6, on Top Ledge Road.
The state’s chief medical examiner ruled her death was a homicide.
Commaille, who is free on $500,000 bond, but is not required to wear a monitoring device, made the request to attend the wedding during his arraignment Wednesday, June 10, in state Superior Court in Waterbury.
The judge granted his request to attend the wedding Saturday, June 13, in Massachusetts but also ordered Commaille to obtain permission from the bail commissioner if he plans to leave the state again.
Redding police handled the original call in which Commaille said his wife had shot herself, but turned the investigation over to state police.
State police said they have sealed the arrest affidavit with details of the crime for 14 days due to confidentiality statutes.
